The story of the Happy Plant Cat Deterrent began with two mischievous cats and a Christmas tree. One year, I bought my daughter a tree for her mom’s house, and after we finished decorating, the cats quickly made a game out of knocking the ornaments off. Every few minutes, we’d hear the jingle of an ornament hitting the floor. I searched for a solution but couldn’t find anything on the market to stop them.
That’s when I took matters into my own hands. I grabbed some tupperware bowls, Christmas ornament hooks, and a few ingredients to make a DIY cat deterrent. And it worked! That success led to my first product, Happy Pawds, which even garnered interest from major retailers like PetSmart and "As Seen On TV." But with costs too high, I knew I needed to refine the concept.
Fast forward to today, and we have the Happy Plant Cat Deterrent. It’s not just for Christmas trees anymore—it can be used to protect houseplants and other areas from curious cats. This version is simple, affordable, and much less wasteful than my original design, making it the perfect solution for cat owners everywhere.
